Surplus Embryos
In the event that more embryos are created in the cohort than the intended parents wish to use (up to two embryos), the remaining embryos are considered surplus embryos. These embryos are not discarded, but rather, they are donated back to the program for future families participating in the donor embryo program can match with as transfer-ready embryos.
How Many Embryos Do You need?
If you envision your family with two or more children, you may want to consider reserving more embryos from the cohort, if available. Additional embryos can be added to your original cohort at $8,000/additional embryo. These embryos would be cryopreserved in our partner clinic’s facility for your future sibling cycle(s).
